Mityana, Uganda – The Territorial Police in Mityana have arrested a suspect believed to be behind a string of gruesome murders in Mityana District since 2022.

    Kajjaji Samuel

Kajjaji Samuel, alias Pastor, a Boda Boda rider and resident of Buwate, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, was taken into custody on August 6, 2024.

During interrogation, Kajjaji confessed to luring and murdering the victims.

The police are investigating his involvement in at least three murders that have occurred in the district since 2022.

The incidents include the murder of Ngomba Charles Serugo, a businessman who was killed in his compound in Kabukira village, Kalangalo Subcounty, on December 7, 2022.

Another victim, RoseMary Mugabirwe, 35, was found dead on a farm in Wabiyinja B village with multiple injuries and signs of rape on September 30, 2023.

Investigations have revealed that Kajjaji allegedly lured and murdered two victims in separate incidents.

RoseMary was lured from Kabalagala-Kanyogoga and murdered in Kikandwa, Mityana District, while Ndyayambaje Didas, 32, a Boda Boda rider, was found dead in Kamira Ntumbwe swamp, Kalangalo Subcounty, Mityana District.

Preliminary findings indicate that Kajjaji stole Didas’ motorcycle after murdering him.

“The suspect is currently being held at Mityana Police Station for further interrogation,” said SP Racheal Kawala Wamala, Region Police Spokesperson.

“We commend the community for their vigilance and cooperation, which led to the arrest of the suspect. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”

The arrest of the suspected serial killer has brought relief to the community, which has been living in fear of the unknown assailant.

The police are commended for their efforts in apprehending the suspect and bringing him to justice.
