Busiro North Member of Parliament Paul Nsubuga is facing financial troubles after failing to repay a 40 million Ugandan shillings loan, despite earning more than 40 million shillings monthly as an MP.
To make matters worse, Nsubuga allegedly used his mother Agnes Nabawanuka’s land as collateral to secure the loan, putting her property at risk.
The bank has since issued a notice of property sale on her home, leaving Nabawanuka seeking help and assistance.
This raises questions about Nsubuga’s financial management, given his substantial income.
His inability to repay the loan has sparked concerns about potential financial mismanagement and prioritization of expenses.
Paul Nsubuga belongs to the National Unity Platform, one of Uganda’s foremost opposition parties.
Previously, Nsubuga faced allegations of theft after allegedly stealing an Itel phone valued at 80,000 shillings with 4.5 million shillings on its mobile money account.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, but he maintained his innocence.
Despite these controversies, Nsubuga has made notable contributions to his constituency.
He purchased a 120 million Ugandan shillings ambulance for his constituents, demonstrating his commitment to public service.
However, his election victory was contested by Edgar Lubadde, but the Court of Appeal upheld his win.
