Presidency Minister Milly Babalanda’s competitors must be experiencing sleepless nights and horror dreams due to how much love the workaholic Minister is being showered by her supporters in Budiope West constituency.
Babalanda, one of the most influential ministers in the government of HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was earlier this year requested by the voters to come and drive this constituency to a steady future.
The above left a couple of selfish politicians in Budiope in staggering mode and have reportedly been doing all their best to deter Babalanda’s support, however to their dismay, their attempts have not yielded any positive results.
It’s against the above background that these hopeless politicians opted for propaganda to heap rot against Babalanda’s good name while others have been hiring goons and giving them t-shirts embroidered with discouraging and toxic statements against the Hon Minister to kill her popularity.
Last week alone, several bloggers were sharing fake articles all over social media claiming that people had since rejected Babalanda’s candidature, forgetting that actually she was just requested to contest and revive this constituency from the hands of selfish politicians.
Today alone, the Hon Minister who is always on the ground interacting with her people spent her Easter with Muslims at her home and they briefed her about challenges affecting them, which further proves that she is a humble leader who is soft to both the local and corporate wanainchi.
Earlier this month, she met her electorates at Imeri primary school in Nkondo Sub-county. These electorates that were led by the district NRM acting chairman, Paul Muwanga, expressed determination and readiness to entrust power to the Hon Minister to represent them in Parliament.
Admitting the pleas of Budiope West locals, Minister Babalanda informed the gathering that her obedience awaits and the area will be effectively represented.
“I have not come to fight but to ensure service delivery such that my people of Budiope benefit from the government,” said Babalanda. “Those who have words can continue talking behind our back as we continue delivering services.”
It’s worth noting that Babalanda who last year won an award from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) for her contribution towards the fight against HIV/AIDS in Uganda, is among the most hardworking ministers that Museveni okayed to continue serving Ugandans as he kicked out some through a reshuffle last week.
