Kampala, Uganda – The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) party promoters gathered at their Katonga Road offices on Monday 12-05-2025 to launch their election mobilization campaign in preparation for the 2026 general election.

According to Wafula Oguttu, Team Leader of the PFF promoters and former Leader of Opposition in Parliament, the Electoral Commission (EC) has notified the party that it will be gazetted this week, having fulfilled all necessary registration requirements.

This development marks a significant milestone for the party, which has been working towards formal recognition.

The gazettement will enable the PFF to participate in the electoral process and contest for various positions in the upcoming general election.

The PFF emerged from a faction of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) based at Katonga Road and submitted its application to the EC in August 2024.

The party’s symbol is the phone, and its colors are royal blue and white, with the slogan “Freedom for All and All for Freedom”.

The party’s leadership, including Erias Lukwago lord mayor of Kampala the capital city of Uganda, Oguttu and other key promoters, expressed their commitment to mobilizing support across the country and building a strong grassroots presence.

With the 2026 general election approaching, the PFF is gearing up to make its mark on Uganda’s political landscape.

The party’s gazettement is expected to be a crucial step towards its formal recognition and participation in the electoral process.
