A shocking turn of events has unfolded in Kitagwenda District, Uganda, where police have arrested Amarakutunga Levi, a musician and councillor representing persons with disabilities, for allegedly murdering a 4-year-old child from Nyaruhanda Village.
The child, whose identity has not been disclosed, went missing on March 16, 2025, after being sent to a neighbor’s house.
Tragically, the child’s body was discovered the next morning in a nearby bush.
According to police reports, the investigation involved the K-9 unit, which tracked a scent leading to Levi’s home, approximately 300 meters from the crime scene.
A suspected panga with bloodstains was also recovered about 200 meters from the body.
Further search at the suspect’s home yielded incriminating evidence, including a bucket filled with water containing clothes and blood, and blood stains on the wall of one of the rooms.
The police are currently holding him in custody as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s murder.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of children in the area, and the police have urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant.
As the investigation unfolds, the community remains in a state of shock and mourning for the young life lost.
