    Justice Served Eight Arrested for Mityana Robbery

    Territorial police in Mityana are holding eight suspects in connection to an aggravated robbery case that occurred in Buswabulongo cell, Busimbi Division, Mityana municipality, Mityana District on October 5, 2024, at 2100hrs.

    The victim, Mugwanya Henry, a 37-year-old businessman working as a bank and mobile money agent and a resident of Buswabulongo cell, Busimbi Division, Mityana municipality in Mityana district, was attacked along with his wife while they were going home from work in his vehicle.

    Preliminary findings indicate that unknown people armed with pangas and sticks attacked the victim and his wife, robbed him of his six posh machines, a Samsung A15 Galaxy, two itel mobile smart phones, and two Button itel phones, all valued at 14 million shillings.

    It is alleged that the robbers used a vehicle to block the victim in a narrow access road to his home, used pangas to cut the victim, damaged his vehicle, and threatened to kill him if he didn’t give them money.

    A case of aggravated robbery was opened at Mityana police station for investigations.

    Eight suspects have so far been arrested and are confessing to have participated in the robbery.

    The suspects have been identified as Mubiru Brian alias Kagawa alias David, Jjuko Musa, Mugahi Hakim alias Kim, Lukwago Yahaya alias Musiramu, Kibuule Rogers, Tumwekwase Innocent alias CMI, Matovu Malik, and Kawooya Dennis.

    Exhibits recovered include a Samsung Galaxy A14 belonging to the victim, a motor vehicle Toyota Wish silver in color reg. No UBB 560K allegedly used in committing the robbery, two motorcycles, UGG 178J Bajaj boxer red in color and UGD 618B Haojue red in color allegedly used in committing the robbery, a police FFU warm suit, a pair of handcuffs, pangas, marijuana, a police jungle boot, and an army head dress amongst others.

    Investigations are still underway, confirmed by SP Kawala Rachael, police spokesperson Wamala region.
