Eldoret, Kenya – Dickson Ndiema, the ex-lover of renowned athlete Rebeca Cheptegei, has died at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

Ndiema, who had sustained 30% burns during a fire attack on Cheptegei, passed away Monday night in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he was receiving treatment.

This devastating development comes just days after Cheptegei’s tragic death at the same hospital.

According to reports, Ndiema had attacked Cheptegei at her home in Trans Nzoia, dousing her with petrol and setting her on fire. The horrific incident also left Ndiema with severe burns.

The hospital confirmed Ndiema’s death, bringing an end to a tragic sequence of events that has shocked the nation.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
