    Former NTV Uganda Reporter Maurice Ochol Commissioned as US Navy Officer

    In a remarkable achievement, Maurice Ochol, a former senior parliamentary and political reporter at NTV Uganda, has been commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.

    This prestigious branch of the US armed forces plays a vital role in national defense, ensuring maritime security and supporting other military services worldwide.

    Ochol’s journey to becoming a US Navy officer is a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Growing up, he dreamed of becoming a pilot while attending Naguru Katale Primary School.

    He pursued his secondary education at Mora High School for O’Level and Kololo Senior Secondary School for A’Level.

    After completing his secondary education, Ochol went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies from Cavendish University.

    He further honed his skills by obtaining a diploma in journalism from UMCAT.

    As a journalist, Ochol’s work as a parliamentary and political reporter at NTV Uganda showcased his commitment to storytelling and public service.

    His transition from journalism to serving in the US Navy demonstrates his desire to contribute to society on a global scale.

    The US Navy offers various commissioning programs, including those for officers and enlisted personnel.

    These programs provide individuals with the opportunity to serve their country while developing valuable skills and leadership abilities.
