POLICE: BOBI WINE INJURED HIMSELF, DIDN’T GET SHOT

Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Police Force has released a statement regarding the alleged shooting of Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, Bobi Wine participated in a thanksgiving ceremony at the residence of his lawyer, George Musisi, which concluded peacefully.

However, upon leaving, Bobi Wine and his team embarked on a procession, despite police advice against it. Police intervened to prevent the procession, leading to an altercation.

“It is alleged that Hon. Kyagulanyi sustained injuries during the altercation. Our officers on site claim he stumbled while getting into his vehicle, causing the injury, whereas Hon. Kyagulanyi and his team assert that he was shot,” Kituuma stated.

The police maintain that there is no evidence to support the shooting claims.

Bobi Wine was taken to Najaeem Medical Centre in Bulindo for first aid.

The police have initiated an investigation to clarify the facts surrounding the incident.

“The police will investigate the alleged shooting and any related incidents,” the statement read.
