Namujju, dressed in a white gomesi, was accompanied by several politicians, including State Minister for Microfinance Haruna Kasolo, Bukoto West legislator Muhammad Ssentaayi, and Budaka District woman legislator Pamela Nasiyo Kamugo.

Despite efforts by Senior Presidential Advisor on Greater Masaka Affairs, Ms. Justine Nameere, to block the function, citing that it was unnecessary since Namujju is still under prosecution, the event proceeded as planned.

Namujju and two other legislators, Paul Akamba and Yusuf Mutembuli, were granted bail by the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court after spending 55 days in Luzira Prison.

During the ceremony, Rev. Fr. Gonzaga Nsamba praised Namujju for her bravery while in prison, likening her experience to that of Jesus’ crucifixion.

Other clerics also thanked Namujju for her consistent support of church projects.

After the Mass, clerics from different religious denominations converged at Kabukye Village, Namujju’s ancestral home, to pray for her to overcome her legal battles.

In her speech, Namujju thanked those who have stood with her since her incarceration, saying, “I told them not to cry because whatever I am going through is on my life calendar. I thank God for enabling me to follow my life calendar.”

The event comes after Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and two legislators defended Namujju, saying she is generous and shares whatever she has with her constituents.
