As of today’s closure of business, the National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Election Management Committee (EMC) has received interest from one candidate, Magala Umar, to contest in the Kawempe North by-election on the NUP ticket.
For the Kazo-Angola councillor seat, Yiga Musa has also successfully submitted his credentials, meeting the EMC’s requirements.
The application process remains open until February 4th, and the NUP has encouraged other prospective candidates to submit their credentials for nomination.
“We encourage all other prospective candidates who wish to contest on our flag to equally submit their credentials for nomination,” the NUP stated.
