The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has dismissed rumors circulating on social media that the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results will be released on Friday, January 17, 2025.
According to sources within the Ministry of Education, UNEB and the ministry had initially planned to release the results on Friday, but this has been debunked by the examinations body.
The delay in releasing the results is attributed to UNEB’s inability to secure an appointment with Education Minister Janet Museveni to brief her on the performance of learners.
As a result, the release of the results has been pushed to next week.

The 2024 PLE examinations were administered to 798,763 candidates in November last year, marking the end of their primary level education.
The candidates, comprising 419,357 females and 379,414 males, sat for papers in English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies.
UNEB typically releases PLE results in January, but the exact date varies from year to year.
The board has advised parents, teachers, and candidates to wait for an official communication on the release date.
Once released, the results will be accessible through mobile Short Message Service and via school examination centers.
Hard copies of the results will also be available for collection from the board’s offices in Ntinda
