A significant breakthrough has been achieved by the Wamala Flying Squad Unit and territorial police in Mityana, as they have arrested 10 suspects in connection with a series of aggravated robberies and murders in Mityana, Kassanda, and parts of Kampala.
The crimes were committed between November 2024 and January 2025.
The suspects, aged between 19 and 28 years, were identified as:
-Sseguya Ivan alias Bashir
-Agaba Godfrey alias Boge
-Kabugo Shafik alias Fik
-Kiiza Simon alias Andrew
-Ndyanabo Mathias
-Turyahebwa Nicholas
-Nsabimana Peter alias Kajambiya
-Nakitulimana Sam
-Mubibi
-Kayemba Umaru
Their arrests were made possible after Sseguya Ivan was taken into custody on December 27, 2024, in connection with an aggravated robbery incident at SACCO offices in Kanyogoga Village, Sekanyonyi.
During interrogation, he revealed the identities of his accomplices, leading to their arrests in Mityana Municipality, Nansana Municipality, and Kassanda District.
The suspects have confessed to involvement in several robberies in Mityana, Kassanda, and parts of Kampala. Some of the incidents include:
Mityana District:
- Attack on Ssebagereka Vincent and defilement of his 15-year-old daughter in Kikuuta Village.
- Robbery of Namilimu Noelina of UGX 500,000 in Lukingiride Village.
- Robbery of Kasozi Samuel of UGX 70,000 in Nakilagala Village.
- Break-in at SACCO offices in Kanyogoga Village. Kassanda District:
- – Robbery of Tumwebaze Stella of UGX 3,000,000, laptops, and mobile phones in Bukuya Trading Center.
- Robbery of Sserunjogi Yusufu Salongo of mobile phones, national ID, and an unspecified amount of money.

Searches conducted at the suspects’ premises led to the recovery of several exhibits, including mobile phones identified by the victims, and breaking tools.
The police commend the community members who provided critical information that helped dismantle this criminal gang. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects involved.
